CRRC-Pro Engine Information

For up-to-date info on this range check the Latest News or Engine News sections

Some information if you have recently bought the superb CRRC-pro model engine...

This engine can give you lots of good reliable service with all spare parts available to keep it in top condition for many years to come.

Some parts of this engine such as the spark plug and CDi ignition unit must be regarded as "consumable" as their working life span can be influenced by the use they are given.

Spark plugs should be checked occasionally to make sure the engine is not running with the carburettor setting either too rich or too lean. A "nut brown" colour generally shows all is well, whereas a black sooty plug shows it has been run too rich, and a very light pale colour suggests it has been run too hot indicating a setting that is too ìlean". Both conditions can shorten the working life of the plug as well as not providing you with the engines best performance.

Similarly, the CDi unit should only be run on a 4.8-volt supply and mounted in the model in such a way as to avoid any unnecessary vibration or strain upon the connecting wires. It is also a good idea to cut the 4.8-volt supply to the unit when it is not in use powering the running engine. This can be easily achieved by using any suitable switch of your choice - we have a heavy-duty switch available from CRRC-pro that is made for the job if required.

In the unlikely event of any warranty claim, please return the engine to your supplying dealer together with the purchase receipt. We know most of our dealers are more than capable of sorting-out any minor problems for you "on the spot" to save any lost time - but if the engine has to be returned to us we will need this information sending with the engine by your dealer.

We can offer an engine rebuild and repair service if it should ever be needed in the future. At the time of writing the charge for this is £25.00 plus the cost of any parts needed and the return postage to your home. Please pre-book your engine into our workshop by calling us on 01706 260502 and advising your credit card details for payment. When you send your engine to us, please include you full name and delivery address and contact phone number so we can make sure the engine can be safely returned to you as quickly as possible.
