| The first BRCA Race for Large Scale Buggies was won (28th March 2010) by Richard Stiles driving his new MCD V4 Race Runner buggie. We were not at the Round 2 due to a family Christening, but we won Round 3 at Frome with Stevo Backland, and also took 2nd place with Richard Stiles.
Not only did the new V4 Race Runner win the event, but it also recorded two of the three fastest qaulification times at this meeting of any car present including the 2WD cars at round 1, and again the overall fastest qaulifying car at Round 3.
Round 1 fastest time - Stevo Backland V4 Race Runner, second fastest time Ian Oddie Contrast, third fastest time Guy Heyward V4 Race Runner.
This first delivery of V4 Competition Race Runners is almost sold out, but we will have a new delivery soon, so place your orders with us or with your local model shop now to get the fastest delivery, and in time to race at the next meeting.
Following a phone call from MCD, we can now advise the price of the new Race Runner V4 Sport will be just £699.00, and is available complete with 26cc engine for just £899.00 including vat.
Non EU export prices are less 17.5% ( no vat to pay).
This is a lower price than we were expecting, and we are very pleased to be able to offer such a competetive price for this new European made car that has caused so much interest.
At the time I first wrote this, I was not aware that MCD were also considering making a Competition version of the V4 - but this is now the case, so we will be selling both V4 Sport and V4 Competition cars and they will be available here within the next 2 -3 weeks or so.
The Competition V4 Race Runner that we have here includes the "Fat Boy" Ultimate shock absorbers, alloy mounts for the central transmission shafts, all steel gear train, new large diameter wheels and tyres and heavy duty anti-roll bars.
The V4 Competition will start at £999.00 without engine, and £1199 including a 26cc engine.
Naturally with such early information, it is possible that the price and specifications could change slightly - but based on what we know today, these are the prices we are expecting, and if we have any changes they will only be small ones.
We are still able to offer the last of the Evo 3 Race Runner Competition cars with all its alloy parts, steel gear sets and 27cc engine etc for just £999.00 - only 3 left at this price with engine. This represents great value for money when compared with the new Comp at £1199.00 for a rolling chassis only (without engine) and is a well proven and tested race winner.
Later in the year (when time is available) the Ultimate will also get the V4 facelift - but Sinan has told me that all the new parts will be interchangable with the exising Ultimate cars, so any drivers who are fortunate enough to own an Ultimate can probably race it for most of this season until the option to "upsize" become availabe towards the end of the year.
Anyone that has been able to secure one of these special deal Evo 3 Comps either with the 26cc engine, or the 27cc engine has done very well and bagged a lot of car for very little cash.
The new V4 car marks the start of a new era for MCD.
The car is a fair bit bigger than the previous Race Runner cars, and will come as a bit or a surprise to most as the pictures do not show a size comparison - but it is a little longer and wider and has higher (bigger diameter) wheels and tyres as well!
The new car sits well in the middle of the price range with the Evo 3 Race Runner Sport still currently available at a lower price below it and the Race Runner Ultimate above it at a higher price.
We are taking orders now for the new V4, so if you would like to be one of the first to own one in the UK contact us now, or place your order with your local model shop so they can order it for you. |
